Our duly commissioned Notaries Public are authorized to perform the following notarial acts:

• Administration of oaths and affirmations

• Taking affidavits and depositions

• Certification of acknowledgments

• Protests of negotiable instruments; and maritime matters

• Witnessing of signatures

• Remote Online Notarization (RON) services utilizing secure audio-visual technology, in accordance with New York State Department of State guidelines (Some of our notaries public offer RON; not all.)

Important Information for Clients

• All signatories must present valid government-issued photographic identification (with signature) prior to notarization.

• Remote Online Notarization (RON) services are available by appointment and adhere to all statutory identity verification and record-keeping requirements.

• The fees:

  • for in-person notarizations is $2 per act;

  • for in-person protest of note or bill, $0.75 for a protest; and $0.10 for each notice, not exceeding five (5) on any bill or note;

  • If travel is needed to the signatory for any notarial act, then $25 Travel Fee shall be assessed;

  • Remote Online Notarizations are subject to a fee of $25 per act;

• Birch Hill Chambers' notaries public do not provide certification of true copies, solemnize marriages, draw contracts, or offer legal advice.
